Music will Light Up Your World

There is just something about music that can change your day, your mood, or your willpower.

I know, because I love to listen to loud, fast paced music when I work out, and boy can you tell a difference in your motivation factor.

Coming from an LDS background, I have a real respect for church hymns, and who doesn't love a good Amazing Grace once in a while!? But I have also noticed there is a place for the very uplifting, very positive music sung by many Christian bands these days. Back in the day when I was going to Bayside Church of Granite Bay, Lincoln Brewster was the stuff, and I'm sure he still is. However, I've gained a real appreciation for bands like Mercyme, For King and Country, and Newsboys.

I firmly believe that God wants us to worship Him in any way we can. Whatever we can do to bring praise to His name is worthy, and that's why listening and singing to music is one of my languages of worship, you could say. The positive lyrics can brighten your day, and let you know that when you are suffering, there are others in God's family of children that are suffering too, and we all need each other.

So periodically, I'll try to post some of my favorite songs by some good artists. Today I was listening to "Greater" by Mercyme, which has a very inspiring message that there is one greater than all of us, who created us, and loves us. Enjoy!

Please, feel free to comment with some of your favorite artists!
